Wednesday Big 12 Preview (1/25)

Is Jordan Henriquez still in Frank Martin's doghouse?

The most intriguing question for the game between Kansas State and Texas Tech isn’t whether or not the Wildcats will win or by how many. The question I want answered is, “Will Jordan Henriquez see the floor?” Frank Martin has ended his suspension, but has not said if the 7-foot post will be available to play for this evening’s road game at Texas Tech. Henriquez was a self-proclaimed “spark plug” and really did energize the Wildcats coming off the bench as one of the best “6th man” in conference. That’s the story line that I am going to be watching this evening at 8 PM on ESPNU.

The line is set at Kansas State -11. The Wildcats have had a hard time with playing down to the level of their competition this season and have really been less than stellar on the road. I would not touch this game but I think getting 11-points and taking the Red Raiders is the better move.

The early game on Wednesday sees Missouri travel to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State. The toughest test for Missouri will be for them to live up to their #2 ranking. They just got done taking care of the Bears in Waco to prove their worth, but it seems that more often than not, a win of that caliber will take away some of the team’s focus. I think a bad night in Stillwater will still mean a Tiger win. I would also like to see reigning Big 12 Player of the Week Ricardo Ratliffe back up his performance from Saturday to give the Tigers the inside presence that they need if they want to contend for the Big 12 and possibly a national title. This game airs on ESPN2 and starts at 6:30 PM.

The line is set at Missouri -9. The Tigers are playing their second consecutive road game, but it’s tough for them to be as motivated for this one after winning in Waco Saturday. I would still lay the points and take Missouri.
